In Paris and throughout theÎle-de-France region, the Journées du Patrimoine are a not-to-be-missed event. During this exceptional weekend, our most beautiful treasures open their doors to us, sometimes in unprecedented ways, to let us enjoy a special program, often free of charge.
Museums and monuments, as well as major institutions and private venues, are getting in on the action, offering guided or self-guided tours, events for young and old, and unusual activities that promise to be unique experiences. As you can imagine, with Paris and the surrounding region boasting such a rich heritage, the weekend promises to be an ultra-vital one at this 41st edition, which awaits us on September 21 and 22, 2024.
Among the surprising places playing the Heritage Days game are hospitals. These are brimming with astonishing treasures, from a historical, artistic and scientific point of view. To prove it, we're taking you this time to the 14th arrondissement, to the Centre Hospitalier Sainte Anne, an establishment well known for its specialization in psychiatry, neuroscience and addictology. Here you'll find the MAHHSA, the art and history museum of Hôpital Sainte-Anne, whose collections feature works by patients from various hospitals.
The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de l'Hôpital Sainte-Anne (MAHHSA) will be offering a writing workshop led by Ismaël Jude, Doctor of Literature, who will be proposing literary games in resonance with the temporary exhibition presented at the museum, devoted to Jeannot's Floor, an emblematic work from the collection.
The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de l'Hôpital Sainte-Anne (MAHHSA) will be offering a two-part tour, beginning with an exploration of the exterior of the historic Hôpital Sainte-Anne, inaugurated in 1867; a journey through the history of the site and its architectural heritage. The tour continues with a visit to the museum's temporary exhibition, devoted to the Plancher de Jeannot, an emblematic work from the collection.
The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de l'Hôpital Sainte-Anne (MAHHSA) will host a lecture by Anne-Marie Dubois, the museum's scientific director and curator of the temporary exhibition devoted to Jeannot's Floor (from September 11, 2024 to April 27, 2025). An opportunity to revisit the eventful history of this emblematic work from the museum's collections.
