Heritage Days 2024 at the Musée de l'Homme: original tours and a zany brass band at the museum

The Musée de l'Homme is taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, opening its doors to Parisians free of charge to reveal more about our ancestors and our world.

Who are we? Where do we come from and where are we going? If you've ever asked yourself these questions, then a trip to the Musée de l'Homme could well shed some light on them, answer many of your questions, and help you see more clearly your relationship with the world and your place in it. And just in time, this Parisian museum is once again taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine 2024!

Located in the Passy wing of the Palais de Chaillot, the museum's collections showcase the world's richest anthropological and paleontological collections. Walk through the 2,500 m² Galerie de l'Homme and step back in time!

The 2024 Heritage Days program at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris

  • Discover free performances by the incredible masked brass band Les Hurluberlus and the fabulous permanent collections of the Musée de l'Homme!
    September 21 and 22

    Immerse yourself in the Galerie de l'Homme, a spectacular 2,500 m² gallery overlooking the Seine with an exceptional view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, and enjoy a journey to the heart of human evolution.
    Throughout the weekend, add a touch of spice to your visit with impromptu activities led by Musée de l'Homme mediators.
    Take a musical stroll through the Musée de l'Homme with the HURLUBERLUS brass band!
    Five characters roam the public space. They're sometimes funny, sometimes poetic, but always in a burlesque universe. With zany sincerity, they don't take today's world too seriously. Perhaps for a better future? Hurluberlus is a brass band that really gets things going.
    Saturday, September 21, 12:00, 15:00 and 16:30.
    Sunday, September 22, 11:30, 15:00 and 16:30.
    Performance time: 30 minutes.



Before you leave, don't forget to look up and admire the Davioud glass roof, a vestige of the old palace, and enjoy the view of the Trocadero Gardens and the Eiffel Tower!
