Do you know the Musée du train in Rosny-sous-Bois? For Heritage Days, the Rosny Rail Museum is opening its doors free of charge on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2024 for a journey to the heart of railroad history!

Are you a ferrovipathe, a train and railway enthusiast? If so, we've got the perfect museum for you! Head for Seine-Saint-Denis, and more specifically Rosny-sous-Bois, to discover the Rosny Rail museum on the occasion of Heritage Days 2023.

This little-known nugget is dedicated to the history of the railroads, from the late 19th century to the present day. The immersive museum features numerous installations, scale models, period objects, posters and signs, and even high-speed train components.

This museum is located under the Rosny-sous-Bois RER station, in formerly disused parts. Featuring dozens of antique exhibits, the museum's collection retraces the history of the railroads, and showcases model trains, reproductions of cockpits and country stations, and antiques.

There's no better way to visit this museum than during the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) ! This European cultural event gives us the opportunity to visit major museums, institutions and historic sites, as well as unsuspected treasures in our region. The Rosny Rail Museum isopening its doors to the public free of charge for this event, so let's make the most of it!

So we're looking forward to seeing you at the museum on September 21 and 22, 2024, for a discovery tour that should appeal to young and old alike.

The ROSNY RAIL association was founded in 1997 by the SNCF (Direction Régionale de Paris-Est and Direction du Transilien ex Services Régionaux Voyageurs Île-de-France), the Musée Français du Chemin de Fer de Mulhouse (now the Cité du Train), the town of Rosny-sous-Bois and the Club Ferroviaire de Noisy-le-Sec. Theaim of the association is to manage the museum, which is designed to introduce the public in the Paris region (especially schoolchildren) to the history of the train, its past, its place in today's economy and its future prospects.

Rosny Rail also aims to encourage people in the Paris region to travel to Mulhouse to visit the Cité du Train, with which the association maintains close links, particularly in terms of museographic presentation.

The association is responsible for the upkeep of the museum and its facilities, as well as for the acquisition, conservation and enhancement of the railway objects and equipment on display, both belonging to the museum and to third parties.

Until the last few years, the ROSNY RAIL association has managed to carry out all these activities as best it could - with the dogged determination to keep a motorized draisine running on a track that is, alas, too short, as well as an engine powered solely by the arms of its visitors.
