If you planned to ride the metro or the RERs A and B, as well as buses in Paris this Thursday September 17, 2020, be far-sighted, a RATP strike is planned. The CGT-RATP has joined the SNCF in the inter-business strike to condemn "changes of work conditions, reduction of employees' rights and social advances, blocking pays".
In their online mobilization leaflet, the CGT-RATP condemns "a relaunch plan as we do need a breakplan" and expect all "salarees and officers" to "force the board to give up on their regressive plans". Officers claim the rise of the value of the statutory business, the integration of bonues in the statutory pay, the respect of health guidelines, the end of "disguised social plans at the RATP", the dropping of Macron's reform of pensions and the opening of negociations to tend to 32 hours at the RATP.
In their strike notice, the CGT-RATP announces the strike will start on Wednesday September 16, at 10 p.m. and will end on Friday September 18 at 7 a.m. The trade union expects "everybody" on Thursday September 17, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Place de la République to "show your anger and need for social justice"!
According to the RATP, interviewed by BFMTV, the strike "will have no impact on the traffic" of the public transit. Yet, several stations will be closed from 10 a.m. on the route of the inter-trade-union demonstration. There will be no connection.
