Is another heatwave hitting in the coming days? But when will it be over? As fires – cause by draught – are still impacting France and the country just experienced July with exceptional records of heat, one shall expect temperatures to rise again by the end of the month. According to Météo France forecsts, another and 4th heatwave is to be feared next week.
Double jet-stream: what is this phenomenon likely to be related to heatwaves in France
For a few days, some scientists only say one thing: “double jet-stream”. This atmospheric air flow could be the explanation of most heatwaves that occurred this summer in France, leading to dramatic fires and a very strong episode of drought. Here is more about that matter. [Read more]
More specifically, Météo France forecasted a rise of temperatures from Wednesday August 24, as temperatures are likely to go over 30°C (86°F) on most of the country.
Extreme heats are especially expected in the Bordeaux area, in the Rhone valley and Occitanie, without forgetting Corsica. These high temperatures are likely to go on and even rise again in the following days, especially on Friday August 26.
So far, these are only forecasts and it is hard to say whether there will be another heatwave or not. These trends will be confirmed over the next few days by Météo France.
As for La Chaîne Météo, they also forecasted another heatwave with extreme heat starting from the middle of next week.

Tweet reads: "Is another heatwave coming? Within 10 days from the deadline, the obstinacy of weather models for this scenario for several days seem to show good reliability. 40°C could be reached again in the South"
What about temperatures in Paris, then? In Île-de-France, temperatures are also expected to increase from August 24 and almost up to 30°C (86°F). Temperatures are likely to get stable for the next days. For the record, this summer season has been deeply impacted by several heatwaves. In Paris, temperatures have been over 25°C (77°F) for over 20 days in a row!
