Every day since November 11, 1923, it has been possible to attend the ceremony to rekindle the flame of the Nation at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and pay respects to the soldiers who fell in defense of France. This Saturday, November 11, 2023, marks theArmistice of the First World War, and an official ceremony will take place under the Arc de Triomphe. But it's also the centenary of the Flame of Remembrance, and you're invited to this exceptional commemoration in the early evening!

In addition to a poignant tribute in the morning, with the President of the Republic, a moving ceremony will take place in the evening, from 5.15pm, to which the general public is invited free of charge, from a"flame zone" on the Champs-Elysées. A video mapping projection will be shown on the façade of the Arc de Triomphe, accompanied by a parade of flag-bearers and young people, songs performed by the French Army Choir, the music of the Paris Fire Brigade and a rekindling of the flame by Patricia Miralles, Secretary of State for Veterans and Remembrance.
You can also take advantage of this opportunity to discover an exhibition of 22 panels, presenting the most important ceremonies of the rekindling of the Flame, partly reproduced from the one at theHôtel des Invalides. Displayed in the Passage du Souvenir, the tunnel accessible from the Champs-Elysées, this frieze can be seen until December 17, 2023.
