As reported by several media outlets, including TF1, French President Emmanuel Macron will commemorate November 11 in the company of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, for a day dedicated to"Franco-British friendship". On Monday morning, the two men will head for the statue of Georges Clemenceau on the Champs-Élysées, followed by that of Winston Churchill, to lay wreaths. They will then head to the Place de l'Étoile for the traditional ceremony at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe.
To ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly, RATP has announced the closure of several Paris metro stations this Monday, November 11, 2024.
More specifically, access to six stations is closed. Kléber (line 6), Boissière (line 6), Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13), Franklin D. Roosevelt (lines 1 and 9), George V (line 1) and Charles de Gaulle - Étoile (lines 1, 2 and 6 and RER A) stations are closed by order of the Préfecture de Police. Please note that trains do not stop, and connections at these stations are not guaranteed. These stations will be reopened with the authorization of the Préfecture de Police.
