La Nuit des Musées is a major cultural celebration that brings together thousands of curious visitors to museums and monuments across France every year. This Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Musée de l'Ordre de la Libération is taking part: to mark the 20th edition of this cultural event, it is opening its doors to us free of charge and offering an exceptional visit to mark this special day.
The Musée de l'Ordre de la Libération was created at Les Invalides in 1970. It is dedicated to the order founded by General de Gaulle during the Second World War and to the Compagnons de la Libération. Its collections retrace the careers of these fighters of Free France and the Resistance, as well as those who were deported for resisting Nazi oppression. Completely renovated in 2016, it presents over 2,000 items illustrating the journey of the Compagnons in a 1,200 m² space. So what's in store for this year's Nuit des Musées? Discover the program.
