In the heart of the Latin Quarter, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Musée de Cluny brings together relics from the Middle Ages in a beautiful museum, located in the place of the former Gallo-Roman baths of Cluny, whose frigidarium is still visible.
It's a magnificent place to visit, as much for its architecture as for its collections. The Gallo-Roman baths have withstood almost 1800 years of history, in the heart of a city in perpetual motion. In 1485, the abbots of Cluny built their residence against the thermal baths, the high building where the collections of the Museum of the Middle Ages are housed!
The Musée de Cluny showcases its rich collection, with over 1,600 treasures from the Middle Ages, including the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestry. The exhibition takes visitors through several centuries ofart andhistory, revealing traces of a culture both near and far from our own.
All these works can be discovered free of charge this Saturday, May 18, 2024, on the occasion of the 20th edition of the Nuit des Musées. During this exceptional evening, the Musée de Cluny opens its doors to all, and even proposes some special animations...
