The Bibliothèque nationale de France is a veritable temple of Parisian literature, heir to the royal bookshop initiated by Charles V in 1380, with 900 manuscripts. A must for researchers and students alike, the BnF is offering us a seventh edition of its La Bibliothèque Parlante festival, featuring read-aloud events and poetic strolls, from May 31 to June 2, 2024.
It's a way of making books speak and revealing all their secrets, thanks to authors, actors and singers who will have the tough task of bringing works to life, especially classics, during a carte blanche with Jean-Michel Ribes,a major figure in theatrical creation over the last forty years, echoingthe exhibition paying tribute to him. Ribes invites the public to share his love of letters through texts that are dear to him, surrounded by his band of actors - Pierre Arditi, André Dussollier, François Marthouret, François Morel, Christine Murillo, Marie-Christine Orry...
On the program: an opening evening with texts and songs, readings by Pierre Arditi, a montage of a selection of episodes from the children's program Téléchat, deckchair readings, film screenings and guided tours of the garden-forest as part of the Rendez-vous in the garden...
