Do you love music? Would you like to pay tribute to it? Then join us on June 21 for the traditional Fête de la musique. Every year on the same date, budding musicians and singers gather in the streets, bars and restaurants, as well as in parks and gardens, to celebrate music in all its forms.
But what exactly is the Fête de la Musique? Once a year, on June 21 (the day of the summer solstice), this free, popular musical event invites all musicians, amateurs of all levels and professionals alike, to celebrate living music, and to showcase the breadth and diversity of musical practices, as well as all musical genres.
Created by the French Ministry of Culture in 1982, the Fête de la Musique has since been exported abroad, to the point of becoming a national event in several countries, including Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, Peru and Colombia. Over the years, the Fête de la Musique has invented and reinvented itself, becoming an emblematic event that people love to come back to every June 21.
This year, the program is once again rich and eclectic in Paris and the Paris region. If you live in Seine-Saint-Denis, head for the town ofAulnay-sous-Bois. On Friday, June 21, 2024, to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the Fête de la Musique, the town is inviting a number of artists to perform live. A free concert will feature the Salut les p'tits clous troupe, including Julie Pietri, Lio, Plastic Bertrand, Bernard Minet, Larusso, Benny B and Caroline Loeb. Together, they'll be putting on a show from 8pm on boulevard de Strasbourg. Other concerts, another atmosphere on the Rose des Vents market square with DJ Sem and Lartiste.
