How about enjoying a walk by Bercy to discover an original piece of work? The White Night is also to be enjoyed within the Théâtre du Merveilleux at the Musée des Arts Forains. For a night, the place offers you to discover Jean Paul Favand’s video installation, Paésine, an imaginary walk within a dream stone.
In this Tuscan stone, lines from the sedimentation create an imaginary landscape. Measuring 14x8 centimeters, it is widened and screened on a giant screen.
One is invited to walk in the heart of the stone to discover its 3D landscape – without glasses needed. Thanks to a digital wand, you can zoom in on the stone, orient it and discover the different layers and give free rein to your imagination.
“Carnies were popularizers of new technologies and they loved to present them to amaze”, Favand explains. In each of his places he staged items taken out of their normal environment.
The staging, the lighting and the mix of traditional illusion and augmented reality techniques take us to a magic dream.
Note this interactive piece of work is open to all. The Théâtre du Merveilleux is the only place open on the occasion.
