The smallest of department stores, the jewel of the Pont-Neuf, one of Paris's iconic buildings: la Samaritaine is an emblematic place in the capital, and a temple of chic and fashion for all fashionistas. But this Saturday, October 1, 2022, the Samaritaine is more than just a department store: it's also a showcase for the work of Etienne Krähenbühl.
The Swiss artist takes up residence in Place de la Samaritaine, rue de la Monnaie, to unveil a monumental, astonishing and hypnotic sculpture. To celebrate the 20th edition of the Nuit Blanche, the sculptor has created akinetic and sound sphere made up of 850 pieces, entitled Bing Bang.
In his own way, Etienne Krähenbühl depicts the creation of the universe in a work that seems to come to life through the movements of the individual pieces. This impressive installation, accessible free of charge, appears to dance, sing and breathe, representing creative energy and original breath.
