Nuit Blanche 2023: a quirky, clownish night at the Samovar, Bagnolet (93)

Nuit Blanche à Paris returns this June 3, 2023, with a unique experience at Le Samovar in Bagnolet, a veritable institution of the clowning arts. Come and discover eleven talented artists who have worked tirelessly to offer you a disconcerting plunge into their world. Between laughter, emotion and reflection, this promises to be a night to remember!

The Nuit Blanche in Paris takes place on June 3, 2023... It's also an event not to be missed! A whole night of artistic discoveries to awaken the City of Light. Every year, artists and cultural institutions open their doors free of charge to a public passionate about art and culture. It's a magical time to discover or rediscover the cultural wealth of Paris and the surrounding region.

Le Samovar in Bagnolet is not just a theater, it's an essential institution for the art of clowning. It's here that the tradition of the clown is revisited, reinvented and celebrated. Le Samovar is a school, a theater and an artistic residence that has welcomed and trained exceptional talent since its creation in 1988. This year, for the Nuit Blanche, Le Samovar is opening its doors wide to share its passion, its history and its love for the performing arts.

Nuit Blanche promises to be simply magical and clownish, with eleven artists opening up their world to us after a month and a half's work writing their acts. This veritable "creative cycle" promises a unique and disconcerting plunge into the singular universe of these clowns.

Among the acts presented is Max Behrendt, whose clown must find a person ready to leave for the afterlife with a message of love, in a three-act solo show. Anne Billiet invites us to follow Galinette's journey in search of herself, between sharing and solitude. Emeric Brillant questions the notion of love through the journey of a clown desperate to hear a declaration of love. Each of them promises a unique clowning show, sometimes absurd, always moving.

But the Nuit Blanche at the Samovar doesn't stop there: Istvan Van Heuverzwyn will present the sequel to his project"L'incroyable aventure du roi Emir et Trombine Royale", exploring the themes of solitude and the relationship to power. Hélène Prattico will question the relationship between motherhood and the other in a number that promises to be both funny and profound. And finally, Aline Ladeira will present a series of wacky portraits, questioning gendered roles and heteropatriarchal romantic imaginaries.
