Planet of the Apes fans will be happy to spend the evening watching the famous saga based on French writer Pierre Boulle’s book. The Grand Rex organizes this marathon on Sunday July 16, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You will also attend the French premiere of the latest movie “War of the Planet of the Apes” out on August 2 in France.
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: 4 p.m. – 5:55 p.m.
In a laboratory, scientists test a drug on chimpanzees to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. But their trials present unexpected undesirable effects: they discover that the substance they used dramatically increases their subjects’ intelligence. Caesar becomes the first chimp to show this remarkable intelligence. But, betrayed by humans surrounding him and who he trusted, he leads a spectacular rise from all his species against humans.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: 6:15 p.m. – 8:31 p.m.
Ten years after the deadly pandemic, a growing nation of Apes with genetically enhanced intelligence led by Caesar is threatened by a group of humans who survived the virus. They reach a fragile but short-term truce: the two parties are about to face a battle that will seal the fate of the dominant species on Earth.
WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES: 9 p.m. – 11:25 p.m.
Chimps and Caesar are savagely attacked by a human army led by a ruthless colonel preaching their destruction. Torn between his darkest instincts and his will to protect his nation, Caesar develops his revenge. The dual between the two leaders will set the fate of each species and the future of the planet.
