Want to experience 4DX at the movies? In the Aquaboulevard shopping center, not far from Porte de Versailles, you can enjoy this technology in one of the Pathé-Gaumont cinemas. 4DX is based on a system that combines the movement of seats with sensory effects such as wind, rain, smoke, water and odors, all to immerse the viewer in the heart of the action. To create this sense of immersion, the seats move back and forth, left and right, creating vibrating effects. During a chase scene, for example, the seats tilt to simulate suspension in mid-air, and blasts of air are projected to evoke the speed of the action.
Gaumont Aquaboulevard has a weekly program of around 27 films showing in its 14 screens. Among the exclusive films, there are also a few previews. Theatres where you'll find duo seats...but also trio seats! Another special feature of the Pathé-Gaumont cinemas this year is (re)discover screenings of musicals and French comedy plays, live or recorded, such as Les Fourberies de Scapin and Le Petit-maître corrigé. There are also special screenings for opera fans, with the Bolshoi Ballet broadcast live from Moscow on selected Sundays throughout the year. Like other Pathé-Gaumont cinemas, the Aquaboulevard cinema also has a relaxation area where you can enjoy a Häagen Dazs ice cream before or at the end of your film session.
Right next door to the cinema, you'll find the famous Aquaboulevard water park, open 7/7. A few minutes' walk away is the Versailles exhibition center, where temporary trade shows are held throughout the year. Finally, a 10-minute walk away is the Big Fernand burger restaurant.
