Frère et Soeur (Brother and Sister) is the name of the new drama fromArnaud Desplechin, a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since his first nomination in the official selection dates back to 1945 with La Sentinelle, which unfortunately failed to win an award. Since then, the director has climbed the steps on several occasions, with films such as Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle), Esther Kahn, Léo en jouant "Dans la compagnie des hommes", Un conte de Noël, Jimmy P., Les Fantômes d'Ismaël, Roubaix, une lumière, and last year's Tromperie, presented in the Cannes Première category.
Although he has been a frequent visitor to the Croisette, the director has yet to receive an award at the prestigious film festival. We therefore hope that his work will finally be rewarded with a famous Palme with Frère et Soeur. This drama stars Marion Cotillard and Melvil Poupaud as brother and sister, who haven't spoken to each other for many years, without the viewer really knowing why, and who have to cope with the last days of life of their parents, who were injured in a serious traffic accident.
