Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Bette Davis- these names have shaped Hollywood legend. What all these stars of the 1930s and 1940s have in common is that they all worked for Warner Bros. This legendary studio celebrates its centenary on April 4, 2023. To celebrate, the Cinémathèque française is launching a retrospective dedicated to Warner stars from the following day, April 5, until May 18, 2023.
On the program are numerous films from Hollywood's golden age, including cult favorites such as Casablanca, L'impossible amour and Le Grand sommeil, as well as lectures. Sessions are organized by star: Joan Blondell, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Bette Davis, Errol Flynn, Kay Francis and Edward G. Robinson.
In all, some forty feature films will be screened at the Cinémathèque française, where you can also discover some fine exhibitions at the moment, and even a game-inquiry, this Friday, March 31.
