After Premières Vacances, Camille Chamoux returns to writing with Le Processus de Paix, which she signs with Ilan Klipper as director. The film is scheduled for release on June 14 .
Camille Chamoux also stars alongside Damien Bonnard. Both play Marie and Simon, a couple who love each other deeply, but can't stand each other. Unmanageable children, a mental workload, misunderstandings on both sides, and, of course, constant bickering. The married couple's daily life is a living hell of constant frustration. To prevent their relationship from falling apart, the two busy Parisians decide to make a pact to respect the Universal Charter of Couples' Rights, and finally achieve lasting peace.
Without a moment's pause, Le Processus de Paix (The Peace Process) initially makes you want to leave everything behind and flee from any desire for a settled family life, as Marie and Simon's life is so far from dreamlike. The result is a film as fast-paced as its characters, who spend their day running out of time. Fortunately, the film is as exhausting as it is hilarious, for The Peace Process can count on two immense qualities: its writing and its acting. The screenplay is impeccable, and Damien Bonnard and Camille Chamoux deliver one of their best performances ever.
This gives the film a very special flavor, and a rather unique place in current French comedy. Very modern and yet quite unprecedented, we don't often see what Le Processus de Paix shows at the cinema, an innovative film that's a real pleasure to discover.
