One thing's for sure: the creators of One Piece are thinking ahead! While season 1 of the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda 's manga is a hit on Netflix, the platform has yet to announce a possible sequel. But that hasn't stopped the producers from discussing the future. In an interview with Deadline, producers Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements made several tantalizing announcements. Firstly, if season 2 is confirmed, it could be online within 12 to 18 months. But above all, they revealed their plans for the future.
One Piece is a lengthy manga, and adapting it in its entirety would take time. In discussions between the producers, Netflix and Eiichiro Oda, the possibility of giving the series at least six seasons was raised. More than that, the producers confessed to Deadline that their wish was to complete One Piece in twelve seasons. It's not certain that the series will get that far, but if it succeeds, we can always dream!
