Poster for Tomb Raider - The Legend of Lara Croft on Netflix :

A series that should appeal not only to fans of the videogame saga, but also to fans of Indiana Jones-style adventure series and animated series in the vein of the latest Netflix productions, namely The Witcher, Blood of Zeus and Castlevania.

The show, a Legendary Pictures production, sees Tasha Huo, known for her work on The Witcher: The Blood Legacy, takes the script reins. British actress Hayley Atwell(Captain America, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Heartstopper...) will lend her voice to the archaeologist, taking over from Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. All we can do now is wait for the series to be released!

Our review of Tomb Raider - The Legend of Lara Croft on Netflix :

So, what's this Tomb Raider adaptation worth on the small screen...? We're not going to lie, it's a bit of a mixed bag. The series' strongest point is its quasi-game-like nature, paying vibrant homage to the saga through the storyline, which revolves around several relics that could destroy the world.

It's a race against time that respects the codes of gaming to the letter, with tombs, puzzles, acrobatics and villains. And it's great fun! Quite simply, it's like being in a video game! Note that this is a more or less direct sequel to the 2013 game, mixing the Survivor trilogy (the last three games released) with the two previous games (Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Underworld).

It's a mix of genres that just about works in terms of execution. On the other hand, the series suffers from other problems, such as its dialogue and certain situations that try to force emotion, without much success. On top of this, there are a number of easy and predictable plot twists, making for a story that is, in the end, stitched together. One would have preferred a certain originality... but this was not the case. The final episode, while a joyous climax that sums up everything that makes the franchise such a success, adds absolutely nothing to the story.

A series already renewed for a season 2, a must-see if you're a Lara Croft fan. Curious viewers are also welcome, but be warned. All in all, we enjoyed this adaptation. All that remains now is to see how the series will learn from its mistakes and come up with a better season 2.
