French studio Cats & Foxes is preparing an ambitious and innovative game: Virtual Society is a sandbox game... But that's not all. Discover this multiplayer life simulation game.

Create an entirely personalized house or an entire city, choose every color, every wall curve, every decorative detail of your world, and meet other players in an inclusive, friendly space: that's the promise of French studio Cats & Foxes. This independent studio is unveiling Virtual Society, a sandbox game due for release on PC and Mac. The creators hope to present early access to the game by late 2025 - early 2026.

The trailer for Virtual Society:

The synopsis of Virtual Society:

" Virtual Society is a multiplayer sandbox game where players can socialize, play and create together. Created in a beautiful hand-painted style using Unreal Engine, VirtualSociety's cozy world offers players a welcoming space in which to relax. The game lets players' imaginations run wild, allowing them to customize their world alone or with friends. "

This life simulation game lets you create your own world, down to the smallest detail, using flexible tools. Players can also invent the characters of their choice and give them special lives. Virtual Society lets you create unique stories in infinitely flexible worlds. So far, this French game could be a competitor to EA's Sims... But Cats & Foxes doesn't stop there.

The social aspect is very important in Virtual Society: the game can be played solo or in multiplayer mode. Whether local or global, you can join communities of players, meet new people in an online "safe space", or restrict access to your world to carefully selected individuals.

Virtual Society also aims to be totally inclusive, both in the creation of characters and worlds, and in the access offered to players. The game is designed to help people with neuro-atypia, offering challenges and aids to social interaction. The development studio also claims to have worked with health professionals to help combat phobias and anxiety. What's more, features have been included to enable players with motor disorders to access this playful experience.

Virtual Society presents itself as a digital tool for mental health, against isolation and in favor of neuro-atypicals. Through controlled virtual situations, the game's developers hope to help those in need to overcome their fears or surpass their limits.

Can the Cats & Foxes studio deliver on all its promises? We hope so.
