Synopsis: Garfield, the famous indoor cat who loves lasagne and hates Mondays, is about to embark on a crazy adventure! After finding his missing father, Vic, an uncombed street cat, Garfield and his dog friend Odie are forced to leave their lives of comfort behind to help Vic pull off a heist that's as risky as it is hilarious.
For those who don't already know, Garfield is a leading American comic strip character, created by Jim Davis in 1978. He's famous for his immoderate taste for lasagne and his contempt for Mondays. The original series has already been adapted several times for film and television, each bringing its own unique touch to the world of this fat, lazy orange cat.
Garfield: Hero in Spite of Him, promises a bold and hilarious new twist on Garfield's life, while remaining true to the sparkling comic spirit of the original. This animated film takes us on a thrilling new adventure in which our reluctant hero finds himself forced to save the world.
Helmed by French director Antoine Delesvaux, renowned for his previous work on The Rabbi's Cat, this new Garfield adaptation promises humor, energy and high-quality animation. In this feature-length film, you discover Garfield's story from a more family-oriented angle, with the arrival of Vic, a new character who turns out to be, above all, his dad. Garfield and Odie find themselves - against their will, obviously - embarked on an adventure where they'll have to show a lot of courage to save Vic, Garfield's father, who abandoned him when he was just a kitten. Putting aside his resentment, Garfield sets off with Odie on a risky quest, during which they will have to commit a most ambitious robbery. A lovely animated film featuring Garfield, a unique character with a great sense of humor, on a quest that combines forgiveness, love and friendship: a wonderful lesson in life to be seen with the whole family, even the little ones!
