From June 16 to September 15, 2024, film and series producers are going to have to find another city in which to shoot, because the capital won't be fit to receive them! Before, during and a little after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, it will be mission impossible to film major productions, due to their significant impact on public space and the need for security around the filming. Police forces will indeed be focused on the Olympic competition and won't be able to do everything at once!
It's also for this reason that you won't find any major festivals and concerts in the capital at the same time! As far as filming is concerned, the City of Paris' cinema mission has set a calendar with four distinct periods, the first of which (June 16-September 15) prohibits filming in areas where events are taking place. Outside these zones, some filming remains possible, but only in limited numbers and in certain cases.
No more period films or series, or those involving stunts, considered exceptional or in front of the Eiffel Tower! The Olympic Games do not help the film industry, since summer is normally the ideal time for the most imposing shoots, with Parisians being much less present in the capital. Could Emily in Paris end up in Amiens or Lyon?
