Adapted from the Nobel Prize-winning novel"The Peasants","The Girl and the Peasants" plunges us into 19th-century Poland, marked by a young woman's revolt against the traditions of her village. This cinematic work, carried by the voice of Nadia Tereszkiewicz, should offer a vibrant narrative of the struggle for autonomy and social justice.
The film tells the story of Jagna, a young woman promised to a wealthy landowner, who decides to take her destiny into her own hands. Refusing to submit to age-old expectations and traditions, she initiates a rebellion that overturns the established order in her village. This rebellion marks the beginning of an era of profound change, illustrating the "seasons of wrath" that descend upon the village.
Nadia Tereszkiewicz, known for her roles in landmark films and series (such as"Mon Crime" and"Les Amandiers"), lends her voice to Jagna, and should embody her character's dilemmas and hopes with strength and sensitivity.
