Directed by Vincent Paronnaud, co-director of Persepolis, and Alexis Ducord, best known for Zombillénium, Angelo dans la forêt mystérieuse is in the vein of animated family adventure films with a fantastic twist. Adapted from the comic strip Dans la forêt sombre et mystérieuse by Winshluss, the film features the voices of the talented Philippe Katerine, José Garcia and Yolande Moreau. Known for works that often straddle the line between reality and fantasy, Paronnaud once again plunges into a visually rich universe, while tackling universal themes such as courage, family and childhood.
Angelo in the Mysterious Forest will be released in cinemas from October 23, 2024.
Synopsis: 10-year-old Angelo dreams of being an adventurer and explorer. Until one day, when he and his family set off by car to visit his beloved and ailing Grandma, he is suddenly challenged to prove his courage: forgotten by mistake at a freeway service area, Angelo decides to cut through the forest to get to Grandma's house. He then plunges into a mysterious territory populated by strange beings threatened by an enemy even worse than the local ogre...
