The story begins when Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) wakes up with no memory of his past, at the center of a gigantic labyrinth, surrounded by other young boys. This mysterious place, called the Block, is run by these boys, all in the same situation: they don't know how or why they're there, and every night, the walls of the labyrinth rearrange themselves, making any attempt at escape almost impossible.
Thomas, despite his amnesia, is haunted by strange dreams about a secret organization called W.C.K.D. (Wicked). As he begins to explore the labyrinth, he discovers that some of his memories could be keys to unlocking the mysteries of this terrifying place. Joining the runners, those responsible for mapping the various sections of the labyrinth, Thomas tries to discover a way to escape before time runs out.
Tensions rise when Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the first and only girl, arrives at the Bloc, bringing with her crucial information that could upset the balance of the group. Together, they'll have to face frightening creatures called Griffeurs and the deadly dangers of the labyrinth if they hope to make it out alive.
