American filmmaker Paul Feig had us howling with laughter with Spy, a hilarious spy disaster film he wrote and directed in 2015. It airs this Sunday, June 25, at 9:10pm on TF1.

When we imagine a spy, we think of a handsome, tall, sexy man in a suit, looking a little angry, but still attractive. In reality, spies can also be women: fat, short, unobtrusive and awkward. Melissa McCarthy, already seen and adored in My Best Friends, plays Susan Cooper, an assistant propelled to the head of an ultra-dangerous mission. Paul Feig's 2015 film Spy airs this Sunday, June 25, at 9:10 pm on TF1.

She was expecting super-gadgets, but all she gets is a bunch of phony little things. She thinks she'll look good in a ball gown, but is constantly laughed at. But no matter, Susan Cooper is as serious as they come, and as good at combat sports as she is, she's ready to amaze you. And give you a great time!

Melissa McCarthy is eminently likeable, and particularly at home in the role of crazy woman, and she's the source of Spy 's charm: the gags would be nothing without her and her outrageous acting. We just love her! Spy is therefore a pretty good comedy, worth more for its actress than for its direction as a whole - it makes you think of Mister Bean in Johnny English: thank goodness there's comic talent to save unoriginal scripts!
