Sony is going all out for Gamescom 2023! And with good reason: PlayStation has unveiled its next innovation for the PS5, the PlayStation Portal. This is the very first remote playback peripheral specially designed for the ecosystem of Sony's latest console. Gamers on the move, or those who have to negotiate the use of the family TV, are in for a treat.
But don't expect a Nintendo Switch replica! With the PlayStation Portal, you can enjoy the PS5 experience anywhere... as long as your PS5 is switched on. Incorporating the key features of the DualSense controller, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, it features an 8-inch LCD touchscreen. It offers 1080p resolution at 60 FPS, promising an HD visual experience for superior gaming.
This compact machine is ideal if you want to enjoy your PS5 games without monopolizing the TV. Thanks to a Wi-Fi connection, you can switch seamlessly from PS5 to PlayStation Portal, for all games compatible with the DualSense wireless controller. For pure sound lovers, there's a 3.5 mm audio output for wired headphones. However, some titles, notably PS VR2 games and those available via PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming, are not supported.
But Sony 's announcement doesn't stop there. Audio enthusiasts will be delighted to learn of the launch of the Pulse Explore wireless earphones and the Pulse Elite wireless headset. These products feature the new PlayStation Link technology, guaranteeing lossless audio quality and low latency. Sound lovers will enjoy an unrivalled immersive experience. The PlayStation Portal is priced at €219.99, and information on pre-ordering will be available shortly. Stay tuned, so you don't miss a thing!
