Located right in the heart of Paris, theAction Game Bomb Squad promises visitors a unique immersive experience. This venue, nestled in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement on boulevard Sébastopol, invites thrill-seekers to thwart a series of puzzles linked to fictitious bombs (fortunately), in a scripted universe worthy of action movies, all from January 15, 2024. Plunged into a race against time, participants must work together to defuse the situation, combining reflection, strategy and adrenalin.
At Bomb Squad, adventure comes to life in immersive, realistic settings. Each scenario has been meticulously designed to offer a fun, yet educational experience. Indeed, beyond simple entertainment, the game also teaches basic safety and crisis management techniques. Whether you're with friends, family or colleagues, this challenge promises to strengthen your bonds by confronting you with unexpected situations.
In terms of experience, Bomb Squad is the first Parisian store to offer a"grid" room - i.e. a room with a luminous pavement, on which you have to avoid certain boxes (very much in vogue in immersive experiences across the Channel). Other mini-games included a memory game, riddles and lasers to avoid, just like in any good spy or action movie! The last room, of course, requires you to defuse the famous bomb within the time limit you've earned in the other rooms. Be careful, though: if you lose, you risk being sprayed with paint (you're given a suit just before entering the last room, so be careful with your clothes and shoes if you're so inclined...).
Our test of Bomb Squad :
An experience that the editorial team has of course tested, just for you! And we're not going to lie, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the experience. Each room requires you to think or move as quickly as possible, with a fairly interesting range of skills to practice (agility, speed, reflection, memory, etc.). At the start, you're left to grope your way through the game, and once you've got the hang of it, you're left scrambling to get faster and faster and score as much as you can to save time for the final round. It's a bit physical without asking too much of you either, and it's a great way to let off steam with friends.
For our part, we particularly liked the laser room, which isn't all that easy to navigate (you don't have to be broad-shouldered), as well as the "grid" room, a real must-see for all fans of this type of event (it's also our best score...). It's fun for family, friends and colleagues, and that's the main thing!
The last room, in which you have to defuse the bomb, will require a lot of cold blood. Here, you have to remotely control a bomb disposal robot via various joysticks, all on one screen, and eliminate the 10 targets before the time you've earned in the various challenges. The robot is easy to handle, but requires coordination, excellent communication and speed. In just over four minutes, we managed to shoot down 6 out of 10 targets. That's not too bad, but we couldn't avoid the paint explosion, which was pretty impressive all in all.
As for your shoes and clothes, don't worry: you're well covered, from head to toe! So there's little risk of soiling your personal belongings. Note that only 5% of participants succeed in defusing the said bomb, so the experience almost certainly promises you a shower of paint (mixed with water, as in paintball). And for those of you in the 5%, you'll receive a free T-shirt, as well as a comic book about the experience, once it's released (it's currently being created).
A really great experience, great fun to do, and a great idea for a fun day out with family, friends or colleagues!
And what would an experience be without a touch of competition? Bomb Squad is no exception, offering a ranking system for the most successful teams. Each month, the city's best defusers are rewarded and see their names engraved in the game's hall of fame. So, if the idea of becoming a modern-day hero appeals to you, don't wait any longer and book your session now on the official Bomb Squad Paris website. And remember: every second counts! Note that a new venue is due to open by the end of February (to enable several groups to play at the same time) and that a new site is due to open this summer in Fontainebleau, as Bomb Squad Europe explains on a LinkedIn post. Shall we make a reservation, folks?
