Marseille Soap success is double-sided. Supervised for a long time, so-called soaps would arrive in our bathrooms but were not made according to the traditional methods typical of the GENUINE Marseille Soap. Since 2011, the Union des Professionnels du Savon de Marseille (Union of Marseille Soap Professionals) association allows to bring this ancient recipe back to its former glory thanks to its label enabling us then to better spot the difference between authentic and fake soaps.
And La Maison du Savon de Marseille is one of the places which products are certified as being genuine Marseille Soap. That’s to say, a soap made from the traditional recipe that is 100% plant. But the shop doesn’t stop here since these products are also 100% made in France and in partnership with the Savonnerie du Fer à Cheval. The house is then aptly named.
It goes even further. La Maison du Savon de Marseille loves traditions for the secrets they pass on to the next generation and that are always effective. So, once you are in this colorful store, you’ll also discover Aleppo soap, black soap, donkey milk soap, dead sea mud soap and even clay soap. Every soap is 100% handcrafted and made in the respect of the tradition.
The store provides over 200 scented soaps and you’re likely to find what you’re looking for including shower gels for those who’re not fond of blocks of soap.
