You fancy a sauna Swedish way? If so, head to the Institut Suédois [Swedish Institute], a tiny Swedish corner in Paris, on November 25-26, December 2-3 and December 9-10 for an uncommon sauna session… in an egg! Seen as being narrow from the outside, the sauna created by Bigert and Bergström is impressive because it’s 5 meters high and 4 meters wide and can accommodate up to 8 people to relax with wood fire.
Warm and cozy, the round space favors exchange and talking between visitors. In Sweden, “saunas are sacrosanct places where you can discuss about everything, from the most trivial things to the most important ones”, so much that Sweden features about 500,000 saunas for 9 million inhabitants.
Interested? The sauna session costs €10 for 45 minutes (no panic, you can get out and come back in to have some fresh air), followed by a relaxing break with a Swedish drink based on cranberries or blueberries without forgetting drying up with a towel and water.
