Panafrica: ethical trainers for our summer 2020

This summer 2020 will be sustainable or won’t happen at all. When we come to choose trainers, let’s pick up brands that matter such as Panafrica created in 2015 and selling all kinds of ecofriendly trainers. Meet in one of the many points of sale in Paris to make your choice, between classic and colorful models, there’s something for everyone!

What will we wear this summer? We’ve got sandals, flip-flops as well, but we shouldn’t forget about trainers very handy to walk the Parisian cobblestoned streets or country paths. Sustainable fashion brand launched in 2015 Panafrica provides a whole range of trainers that are pretty, ethical and ecofriendly. Meet in one of the many Parisian addresses supplying the brand such as BHV or even L’Exception.

Ecofriendly trainers? That’s a big yes for us. At Panafrica, trainers are made of African wax fabrics bought in Côte d’Ivoire and organic cotton fabric weaved by women in Burkina Faso to make sure of a quality production and in line with the traditions.

And as part of the Walk for School program – created by the brand when it launched – Panafrica supports projects for access to education and professional training in Africa. For each pair bought, the brand donates 10% of its profits to partner associations.

For us, this summer’s hit definitely is the Atlas, a light pair of trainers that will follow us eveyrwhere. This summer model mixes raffia and African wax prints. The natural fiber of raffia from Madagascar is hand-weavened in a family workshop in Morocco. As for wax prints, Panafica supports its production in Western Africa thanks to a partnership with Uniwax, a traditional manufactor of fabric printed in Côte d'Ivoire.

We also fall for more colorful models such as the Ouagadougou (€85) and its hibiscus flower wax called “wedding flower”. Let’s celebrate love and abundance at our feet!

And without forgetting the brand's classics such as the Bamako model still as timeless.
