From February 24 to March 3, 2024, the Salon International de l'Agriculture makes its (long-awaited) return for the 60th edition, directly within the Parc des Expositions, Porte de Versailles.
It's become a bit of an annual fixture: at the end of February/beginning of March every year, we head off to the Salon de l'Agriculture, because even though it's pretty much the same thing every year, it's a fun event, you get to travel around and taste the specialities of each region, and the people are particularly welcoming. So, between pavilion 1, where you'll meet hundreds of animals (pigs, sheep, cattle and goats), pavilion 2 with dogs and cats, pavilion 6 with donkeys and horses, pavilions 3 and 7 with the products and flavors of France, pavilions 4 and 5, which respectively present the professions of agriculture and the different, more professional, ways of growing crops around the world, or 2.2, which deals with gardening and vegetable gardening: you literally have enough to spend your day there.
And that's the point. So, to keep you entertained from 9am to 7pm without ever boring the public, the Salon de l'Agriculture has come up with an all-ages program, entirely free of charge, to entertain, raise awareness and help you discover this world that seems so far away in Paris.
1. Infiltrate France's cereal crops (pavilion 2) and discover how they grow, take part in tastings of breads made from ancient flours and above all - the highlight of the show - climb aboard a combine harvester (life-size, yes yes).
2. If you've never seen a chick hatch, you'll have the opportunity to observe them in their incubators, on the Loué brand stand (pavilion 1). It's a great way for young and old alike to see how chicks hatch!
3. For a playful moment, visit the Flexival festival, which offers two events: one for children and one for adults. There's something for all ages (pavilion 1), on where French meat comes from, how to cut it up, how to cook it...
4. La Camélerie (pavilion 5.2) also explains, in pavilion 5, what camelids such as camels, dromedaries, llamas and alpacas are, with explanations from breeders, veterinarians and scientists who answer all your questions about these unusual animals! An unusual farm to discover at the heart of the Salon de l'Agriculture.
5. Then head to the Hauts-de-France region stand (pavilion 7.1) to try your hand at giant board games (power 4, chess...)!
Of course, we also recommend that you take a look at our guide to family-friendly activities and with children at this year's Salon de l'Agriculture!
