To start 2021 off right, the Théâtre National de la Danse de Chaillot invites star choreographer and Danish Dance Theater art director Pontus Lidberg. We are going to love his new production mixing dance and artificial intelligence, Centaur.
Eventhough we have already enjoyed virtual reality at Chaillot this Fall 2020 with Le Bal de Paris by Blanca Li and Whist by Compagnie AO I E / Esteban Fourmi and Aoi Nakamura, as well as Acqua Alta by Adrien M & Claire B, this time, the experience takes it up a notch with artificial intelligence enabling us to interact with a hybrid creature that is half-human and half-machine. How does it sound?
Meet on January 29 and 30, 2021 at 8:30 p.m. for a unique experience.
If you loved Her by Spike Jonze, you will undoubtedly like Centaur by Pontus Lidberg asking the following question: can artificial intelligence have feelings? Centaur shows us the meeting between dancers and artificial intelligence, using the mythic creature of Centaur.
For this production, choreographer Pontus Lidberg teams up with visual artist Cecilie Waagner Falkenstrøm, specialized in artificial intelligence and Japanese composer Ryoji Ikeda. This is a quality cast of collaborators for an extraordinary project.
For your information, Centaur is also a wonderful occasion to discover the Danish Dance Theatre in action, at the crossroads between present and future.
