In the bustling world of multiple Parisian productions, Music-Hall Colette stands out as a unique experience at the crossroads of music, theater and history, all coming together at the Théâtre Tristan Bernard. Pushing back the boundaries of tradition and innovation in musicals, author and director Léna Bréban offers an unprecedented artistic fusion.
The show is, as its name suggests, dedicated to a tribute to the legendary character of Colette: scandal-monger, stripper, influencer before her time, Colette lived an uninhibited life of freedom that continues to inspire us to this day. From the light-hearted pantomimes of Moulin Rouge to theAcadémie Goncourt, from her scandalous liaisons to her state funeral, Colette 's life and the codes of feminism are paralleled by those of a young artist today in a playful, sensual music hall.
Adapted and directed by Léna Bréban, the play is written by Cléo Sénia, playing the lead role, and Alexandre Zambeaux, bringing an exciting combination of writing skills and creativity. The lead role is masterfully interpreted by Cléo Sénia, whose performance has already been enthusiastically praised by critics.
Music-Hall Colette thus offers a new perspective on France's musical heritage by breaking new ground in the music-hall genre, at the Théâtre Tristan Bernard in Paris from January 26 to March 30, 2024.
