The Théâtre du Rond Point celebrates the arrival of the Olympic Games in Paris from Friday June 28 to Saturday June 29. A number of artists and athletes have joined forces to link art and sport in three different events. `
On Friday June 28, at 8pm in the Salle Renaud-Barrault, actors and athletes take to the stage for 3 hours to share their memorable stories. The Théâtre du Rond Point wishes to highlight the link between sport and poetry, which we found in Olympia when "the most beautiful sporting gestures are erected into moments of poetry."
On Saturday June 29 at 5.30pm, you can enjoy an acrobatic show in the gardens of the Théâtre du Rond Point. Acrobat Sidney Pin from Compagnie La Volte-cirque presents a show using a 12m-high apparatus. Somewhere between a circus performance and aerial acrobatics, the show makes us reflect on the paradox of training day and night for "the realization of a crazy and pointless act: becoming world champion of the giant swing." The acrobat addresses the audience as the show unfolds.
The festivities conclude with a Breaking Battle, in the gardens at 6.30pm, identical to those presented at the Olympic Games. Spectators can watch two events, one for men and one for women. Athletes ranked in the international Top 8 go head-to-head in a duel. The two teams, the B-Boys, and the second, the B-Girls, are each made up of eight dancers, and compete to live DJ music.
The Théâtre du Rond Point awaits you to celebrate the Olympic Games, on June 28 and 29, 2024, in the 8th arrondissement .
