Les Jupes, a creation by Soraya Thomas, can be seen on Saturday June 1 at 8 pm and midnight at the Palais Galliera. The show is held in conjunction with Nuit Blanche 2024, which takes place throughout the capital on June 1, 2024.
The choreographed piece was originally created for the Leu Tempo Festival, held in St Leu, Reunion Island. In the show, Soraya Thomas deconstructs the male body model. She explores mascunality and its symbolism through the exploration of different steps. The performance is a mixture of ballet and fashion show, in an ironic and humorous way. After or before the show, you can discover the Fashion in Motion exhibition , part of theParis 2024 Cultural Olympiad.
Trained at the Conservatoire d'Annecy, Soraya Thomas moved to La Réunion in 2002, where she created several shows, including her first choreographic work in 2007, J'ai pas cherché.... The choreographed piece Les Jupes is the choreographer's seventh work. The event is free of charge.
