After La Face cachée du Soleil in 2007, Les Noces Royales de Louis XIV in 2010 and Les Fêtes Vénitiennes in 2011, Groupe F returns this year with its Grandes Eaux Nocturnes and a fairytale show, Le Roi de feu, on view Thursday July 7, Friday July 8, Thursday July 13 and Friday July 14, 2017 in the Orangerie gardens.
This show was imagined on the occasion of the tercentenary of the death of the Sun King, and invites us to imagine one of the extraordinary parties given by the King in the gardens, and in particular the Plaisirs de l'Ile Enchantée, a show given in 1664, an artistic event that made history through the use of pyrotechnics.
For this show, Groupe F used flame crusaders, fireworks, video and luminous, fire-carrying characters. As a result, all the splendor of the Court festivities is brought to life, but with the means of our time.
Groupe F even brings the Sun King back to life, as the show's director. Over the course of an hour, we'll discover various tableaux, including one illustrating the God Mars and war (image of the victorious young sovereign), an evocation of the God Apollo symbolizing youthful beauty and the protection of the Arts, and a tableau featuring Jupiter, Sovereign of the Gods.
Finally, King XIV will be reunited with the Sun, representing his power over all and his universal glory, in"an unforgettable pyrotechnic finale as only Groupe F knows how to offer", enough to dazzle us!
