La Maison de la Radio makes a splash this summer from June 1 to July 29, 2017 by hosting the experience-exhibition about the Beatles’ album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” to celebrate the album’s 50th anniversary.

Beatlemaniacs, this is for you! From June 1 to July 29, 2017, La Maison de la Radio offers an exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles best-selling album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” as it should be. This experience exhibition, entitled “Sgt. Pepper’s Experience”, is something you have never seen before.

Throughout the exhibition, the public is led to visit the first human-sized 3D album thanks to a playful, interactive tour guided by Radio France’s different producers!

On an artistic initiative from Marc Benaïche, the scenography will offer visitors to discover or rediscover the album throughout the guided tour featuring ten thematic chapters:

Pochette Surprise (Lucky bag): visitors walk through the first pop-up pleat… a video mapping in front of them… They listen to the first radio episode telling the story of the cover. Alongside Valli, discover the secrets of this mythic cover entitled: “When I’m sixty-four”.
Révolution 67 (Revolution 67): 1967’s musical background and Sgt Pepper’s release. Thierry Jousse explains you the musical background of this famous year whilst listening to “Strawberry Fields”.
Le laboratoire magique (The magical laboratory): revolutionary studio album – presentation of the Beatles’ 5th album: George Martin aka the sound’s magician. “A day in the life” illustrated by a radio episode by Rebecca Manzoni.
Air Beatles The Beatles open up to the world and “import” new sounds. The whole word discovers Indian music… The Beatles and George Harrisson start a new mystic and human adventure in resonance with the ideals of the era.
All you need is love let’s discover the bounds between the single “All you need is love” out the same year as “Pepper” and the Californian Hippie revolution in 1967! This song represents the flower power of the summer 1967.

You want to know more? Well then, head to La Maison de la Radio to live out this fantastic live experience!
