The Centre Pompidou celebrates living literature with its Extra festival! From September 12 to 22, 2024, discover books in a whole new way - and for free!

As September marks the start of the literary season in Paris, the Centre Pompidou is back with a new 8th edition of its Extra!festival, bringing literature to life outside the book, from September 12 to 22, 2024. Encounters, exhibitions, poetry, performances... There are as many ways to enjoy books as there are readers.

The Extra! festivalreturns to the Beaubourg Museum for another free edition, highlighting contemporary literary life outside the walls of bookshops. The Centre Pompidou takes us on a journey full of surprises, to meet the great adventurers of literature.

This year's Extra! festival focuses on theimagination, echoing the Centre Pompidou's major exhibition of the autumn, Surrealism. This edition promises to be as magical as it is surprising, thanks to the phantasmagorical staging of artist Alex Cecchetti.
