The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr Fox, The French Dispatch, Moonrise Kingdom... He only has a dozen feature films and a few shorts to his credit, but that's enough to propel him to the forefront of the cinematic scene. With his distinctive style, his characters and his storytelling, Wes Anderson has found his audience and made a name for himself in the world of the 7th art.
The Cinémathèque Française has therefore turned its attention to this unusual director, organizing the very first retrospective dedicated to Wes Anderson and his work. The Parisian film museum invites us to discover the unique world of this artist by visiting its exhibition, from March 19 to July 27, 2025.
This exhibition brings together a wealth of film extracts , original props and costumes, and Wes Anderson's personal documents, giving us an insight into the director's creative thinking.
The retrospective offers a pictorial overview of the artist's career, from his beginnings in the 1990s to his latest feature film, via his awards and various works... The exhibition offers an overview of Wes Anderson's universe, a world filled with codes, motifs and personal references, and illustrated by a selection of costumes and sets that identify him at every moment.
The Cinémathèque highlights both Anderson's own aesthetic, and the profound messages hidden in every detail, every work.
