Thierry Mugler embarks on another international tour, this time in museums! After Canada, the Netherlands andGermany, it's the turn of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris to host the Thierry Mugler: couturissime exhibition.
More than just an exhibition, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris offers a truly immersive experience. A plunge into the heart of Thierry Mugler's work, mobilizing all our senses...
With the death of the great fashion designer on January 23, 2022, this exhibition has become a true tribute to the artist's career and talent. Take this opportunity to (re)discover Thierry Mugler's finest creations.
Perfumes, photography, haute couture: Thierry Mugler dabbles in everything, each time succeeding in creating incredible works and products. The Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris pays tribute to the designer with the retrospective Thierry Mugler: couturissime, taking us back over the artist's career. Haute couture, his fashion shows, his instantly recognizable silhouettes, his photos, his star models, his shows... This overview of the couturier's work reminds us of the major role he has played in the fashion world for almost 50 years.
Far from being wise and classic, theexhibition conveys all the energy and effervescence that animated the couturier. The retrospective takes up residence in the fashion galleries of the Paris museum, and is expected to attract many visitors: it's the first time an exhibition has been devoted to this extraordinary designer!
Photos, videos and haute couture outfits make up the exhibition, of course. But that's not all! Each room immerses us in a different universe, thanks to a unique soundscape. Lift your mask for a moment and smell the Mugler fragrances, presented around some exceptional mannequins.
This exhibition is also an opportunity to recall the immense career of the designer, who has dressed some of the world's greatest stars. Céline Dion, David Bowie, Jerry Hall... (Re)discover the iconic and unique outfits worn by these stars.
An extraordinary couturier and a genius of design, the many models presented in this exhibition have not aged a day. Thierry Mugler's futuristic, visionary vision of fashion makes him a timeless couturier. The exhibition allows us to project ourselves into an eccentric, glamorous and sumptuous future, worthy of the best science-fiction stories.
