Venice as you've never seen it before! The Grand Palais Immersif and theOpéra Bastille invite you to take the trip of a lifetime to the heart of the Serenissima through a brand-new digital exhibition, Venice Revealed, from September 21, 2022 to February 19, 2023. A co-production with Iconem, and in collaboration with the Fondazione Civici di Venezia, the exhibition offers a tour of the city, as if you were there, through 3D modeling and digitization of the city, using a technique known as the "digital twin".
An exhibition in the image of the City of the Doges, conceived as a theatrical set, proposing tourists of the moment to plunge into the heart of the city's many - and sumptuous - palaces, but also the Grand Canal, among others. Visitors are also invited to discover the Grand Canal's natural environment, the engineering that went into its construction, and the challenges it poses in terms of the flow of people, the economy it generates through the transport of people and goods, and so on.
A veritable miracle of engineering, architecture and art, Venice, built on a million piles in unstable mud, has been battling the sea and its sinking for centuries. An ecological reality (notably with the MOSE project), but above all the hidden part of the iceberg, a real mystery, which the exhibition also aims to highlight.
It's an opportunity for visitors to"better understand its history as well as its artistic heritage". As for the projections and mapping, we're promised"breathtaking" images,"based on the most innovative technologies, and accompanied by an original musical composition". In short, it's a beautiful exhibition that we can't wait to see! And who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to head to Venice, my friends?
