The Europa Experience Museum and the association Citoyennes pour l'Europe join forces to pay tribute to the great women who participated in the construction of theEuropean Union. This alliance allows us to discover Louise Weiss, through an exhibition installed on the gates of the Madeleine church, in the 8th district.
The exhibition Louise Weiss, itinerary of a committed European, is therefore accessible free of charge from March 8 to 31. A well-chosen period to highlight this journalist and feminist politician.
Louise Weiss fought for the right of women to vote and to be elected, she worked for a peaceful Europe at the end of the First World War, she worked for the protection of refugees fleeing Nazi Germany, she covered the Nuremberg trials as a journalist... This woman with an exceptional destiny stands out for her obstinacy, her perseverance in the battles she led. Always in search of a more just and peaceful society, she was committed for a long time to set up this union of European nations.
Theopen-air exhibition of Europa Experience therefore returns to this incredible journey, of an astonishing modernity, thanks to various photographs and archival documents reminding us of the great ambitions of Louise Weiss.
On the occasion of Women's Rights Day, come and discover the woman who fought for one of our most important rights: the right to vote.
