Who doesn't know the incredible Takashi Murakami? Known for his brightly colored creations, his flowers, as well as his whimsical little characters inspired by manga, the famous Japanese artist fascinates and attracts many curious and passionate people at each of his exhibitions.
No doubt that this new installation entitled " Understanding the New Cognitive Domain ", will also gather many fans. To be discovered from June 10 to December 22, 2023 at the Gagosian Gallery - Le Bourget, in Seine-Saint-Denis, this new exhibition presents five monumental works by Takashi Murakami, but also several of his smaller paintings and some sculptures.
As you might expect, Takashi Murakami 's installation " Understanding the New Cognitive Domain " is going to be a real eye-opener, thanks in particular to a huge painting by the artist, measuring 23 meters long and 5 meters high, and inspired by theiwai-maku or stage curtain; a work he created for the Kabuki-za theater in Ginza, Tokyo.
Visitors will also most certainly be in awe of another giant painting,"Dragon in Clouds - Indigo Blue" (2010), created by Takashi Murakami in response to Japanese artist Soga Shōhaku's"Dragon and Clouds" (1763).
During this installation " Understanding the New Cognitive Domain ", admirers of Murakami's style will also be able to discover several paintings of " lucky cats ", as well as a two-meter wide flower made of rainbow neon.
From June 10 to December 22, 2023 at the Gagosian Gallery - Le Bourget, visitors will be able to discover the unique artistic universe of Takashi Murakami. The icing on the cake is that during the opening of the exhibition, on June 10 from 3 to 6 pm, visitors will be able to leave with a special NFT designed by the artist and offered free of charge and exclusively on the opening day of the exhibition. " The NFTs will be created on demand at the Le Bourget gallery, and will be limited to one per person," it says in a release.
