In the heart of the Cité de l'Histoire, experience two evenings in the 19th century, alongside the famous writer Victor Hugo and his companion Juliette Drouet, with an immersive show and play.

If you've never been to the Cité de l'Histoire, now's the time! On October 6 and 7, 2023, this exceptional immersive museum opens its doors to you in the evening for historical events, centered on two key figures of 19th-century France: writer and poet Victor Hugo, and his companion of almost 50 years, actress Juliette Drouet. The program includes a 360-degree immersion into the lives of the two lovers, with a mix of show and play.

After their meeting, Juliette abandons her theatrical career to devote herself to her lover, who is already married and a father. Nevertheless, their affair is publicized and known to all, and she even accompanies him on his exile to Jersey. Although he cheated on her many times, he wrote during the siege of Paris: "Her soul never left mine. May those who loved me love her. May those who loved me respect her.She is my widow.

You can explore this special love story during these two unique evenings, thanks to a 30-minute show, the only one of its kind in the world, that plays with the 360-degree videomapping set, where Victor Hugo depicts his life. This immersive show is complemented by a musical one-woman show,"Juliette, Victor Hugo, mon fol amour", in which the lover is played by Marie Lussignol, for a different take on the affair, lasting over an hour.
