The poet Paul Eluard once said that the Earth is as blue as an orange. We don't know about the orange, but the color is debatable! Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Brian Skerry unveil 30 unique aerial and underwater photographs. The two photographers invite us to discover their new exhibition, Planet Ocean, which celebrates the seas and oceans, and their importance for our Earth.
This free exhibition will be on display at Bercy Village from October 7, 2023 to January 6, 2024, in partnership with the GoodPlanet foundation. The photographs show us all the beauty and richness of this aquatic world, which makes up the majority of our planet. Fauna, flora, human activities: these images evoke the grandeur of the oceans, as well as their fragility .
Resolutely ecological, this exhibition illustrates the dangers that threaten these marine ecosystems, and reminds us of the importance of protecting them.
The two photographers alternate between magnificent, colorful, unusual views of the seas and oceans, with images showing the damage caused by human activity, through trade, fishing, tourism, the use of fossil fuels... The exhibition is not, however, pessimistic; on the contrary, the aim is to highlight this beauty, these riches, to generate positive action, for the preservation of these worlds.
Come and admire these photographs at Bercy Village, from early October.
