In a few months' time, the French will be at the heart of world sport, with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In the meantime, sports exhibitions are multiplying, allowing visitors to discover the sports on the program and our French athletes. The Westfield Carré Sénart shopping center wants to combine art, sport and shopping, through two exhibitions, on skateboarding and breaking, until June 2024.
These two urban sports, particularly popular with young people, are showcased in these freely accessible photo displays, which illustrate the importance of sport to the population, particularly abroad, in Morocco and on the African continent in general. From February to April, discover the first exhibition,"Skate Youth", by photographer Yassine Sellame, which documents the skateboarding community in Morocco, through portraits, street scenes and moments taken on the spot, in cities that have become playgrounds.
From April to June, Oscar Kibuuka Mukisa's work will be featured in the"Breaking Uganda" exhibition, focusing on the evolution of breaking on the African continent, where the discipline is empowering young people and having a positive impact on the lives of local residents. Equally present in cities and rural areas, breakdancing has taken on phenomenal proportions, providing an opportunity to evoke gender equality and freedom of expression through sport.
