Get curious with ExploreParis: cruises, walks and unusual tours in July

Make the most of summer, with cultural walks, nature hikes, cruises on the Ourcq, Marne and Saint-Denis canals and unusual tours to (re)discover Paris and Greater Paris from a new angle.

The sun is back! It's time to get out and about. Here's a selection of cruises, visits and walks to enjoy in July 2024.

Cruises to see a different Paris

Summer on the Canal

L'Été du Canal returns to enliven the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq and Canal Saint-Denis from July 6 to August 11, 2024. On the program: low-cost river cruises and shuttles. Cruises for all tastes to (re)discover the history and transformations of the Ourcq Canal: with Patrick Bezzolato,with CAUE 93, in short format and at low prices. L'Eté du Canal also includes Street Art cruises to enjoy the ephemeral urban art trail Au fil de l'Autre, and nature escapades (with the option of taking your bike for the return journey).

For gourmets, don't miss the brunch with Les Chambres, the brunch with Marguerite Charlie and the beer tasting with Paname Brewing Company. L'Été du Canal is also the place to party all summer long:

Heading for the Marne

Come aboard Le Francilien for themed river cruises. On the program: a cruise to discover the landscapes of the Marne, or a cruise along the Marne and its heritage.

For gourmets, enjoy a brunch cruise or a tasting cruise on the history of wine in the Paris region.

Experience the banks of the Marne in an original way by boat and then by bike with François Cellier. Take part in the architecture and nature cruise or the Jazz on the Marne cruise.

The more sporty can opt for a kayak trip to discover the Marne in a different way, or try their hand at rowing.

All summer long, come and discover the Réserve naturelle des îles de la Marne aboard a catamaran.

On the Seine

Want to relax after work? Embark on a Happy Hour cruise and take a sunset tour of the Seine before melting into the Parisian night.

It's summertime!

Take advantage of the fine weather to learn how to create a seasonal nursery. In Montreuil, the regional horticultural society invites you to discover the history of the Peach Walls, and Brice-Manuel Catala guides you from lookout to lookout, from the Parc des Beaumonts to Mozinor.

The Roseraie du Val-de-Marne opens its doors to you! Stories large and small about this exceptional garden will be told during a guided tour: a chance to wander through the fragrant alleys in search of the most surprising rose names.

You can also organize a family outing to meet the dairy donkeys and learn all about the workings of an organic farm.

The Bois de Vincennes is also the ideal place to reconnect with nature. On the program: botanical walks, visits to the tropical agronomy garden, meditation, etc.

Take a deep breath of fresh air along La Végétale, the long green corridor that crosses the Val-de-Marne. A wide range of nature activities are on offer: en pleine nature, budding artists, snack walks, forest treasure hunts, trees in the city...

On the urban agriculture front: push open the doors of the Cité maraîchère de Romainville and discover its CasseDalle garden, wander through the heart of Lil'Ô, an industrial wasteland undergoing ecological conversion, or discover La Caverne, an organic urban farm in the underground passages of the 19th arrondissement. Don't miss the visit and gardening workshop at the Opéra Bastille urban farm.

You can also opt for a nature walk along the Marne to discover the specific vegetation adapted to wetlands, or relive the days of the guinguettes on a bucolic stroll along the Marne.

Craftsmen showcase their skills

More of a craftsman? You can visit the Permapolis aromatherapy center in Saint-Denis, or learn how to create a theatrical mask with sculptor Alaric Chagnard. Other know-how visits include straw marquetry in Montreuil with the LASTO workshop, and blacksmithing and stone-cutting with Les ateliers Suivez la Flèche. Visit a stained glass or silver jewelry workshop, or learn about gold leaf gilding.

Are you a gourmet? You'll be spoilt for choice between the professions ofartisan winemaker, artisan brewer or salmon smoker. And if you're a cheese lover, push open the doors of Monsieur Fromage in Nogent! And don't forget desserts, with the Janette Boudoir workshop on the art of poaching and cupcake assembly.
